Let’s Talk Yarn!
When Lion Brand launched their new Color Theory yarn, I knew I had to try it! This worsted weight, acrylic yarn feels soft and luxurious and gives gorgeous drape to this design. The yarn’s color palette lends itself to endless color combinations that feel sophisticated and wearable.
The Horizon Top uses 3 different colors of Color Theory yarn. You will need 1 (1-2*, 2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2, 3) skeins of each color. The sample is shown in Raisin, Himalayan Salt, and Ivory. *If making a size small, you will need 1 skein of Colors B & C and 2 skeins of Color A (Raisin). Color A is also used for the borders and requires additional yardage.
This versatile pattern will work well with any worsted weight yarn, and would even be a great stash buster! Make it your own with three of your favorite colors or choose one solid color for a classic look. If you’re making this top in a solid color, you’ll need approximately 615 (720, 810, 915, 1035) (1155, 1275, 1410, 1560) total yards.

Don’t forget these!
There’s a few other things you’ll need for this pattern! You’ll need a US H/8 5mm Crochet Hook (these are my fav!) or the hook size needed to get gauge as listed in the pattern. You’ll also want to have a few stitch markers, scissors and a tapestry needle.
Fit & Sizing
This pattern is designed for women’s sizes XS-5XL with (based on the standard measurements provided by the Craft Yarn Council). The Horizon Top is flowy and effortless with 6-8”/15-20cm of positive ease for each size.
The Horizon Top is intended to be an *almost* cropped style to pair perfectly with your favorite high waisted pants. If you would like to add more length, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to modify this pattern to the perfect fit for you. Just take a look at the notes in the pattern and keep in mind you may need additional yarn when making modifications to the finished size.
