Call it a gift guide, but this is really just a list of my absolute favorite products. Instead of going all out with a million ideas, I boiled it down to the items I truly *love* and have used for years.
Whether you’re shopping for a family member or friend, or dropping hints for what you want for your next gift, this is the list for you. Most are geared toward knit and crochet, but you’ll find quite a few everyday essentials that I can’t get enough of!

Yarn
Let’s be real, this category could go on for years, so I’ll include a few favorites!
- WeCrochet: WeCrochet is one of my favorite places to find luxury yarn at affordable prices.
- Lion Brand Yarn: Who doesn’t love Lion Brand Yarn? Bonus, because you can also shop their kits which is essentially a free pattern with your yarn!
- Hand Dyed Yarn: There are so many wonderful indie dyers to find the *perfect* skein of hand dyed yarn. I just finished a design with Sewrella Yarn and am super excited to open my holiday countdown minis from Stress Knits!
- Sheep & Alpaca Farms: You’d be surprised at how many local sheep and alpaca farms might be lurking in your area and have the most amazing fibers. I recently stumbled upon Mitchell Wool Co. and got to meet the sheep their yarn comes from!
- Your Local Yarn Store! Pop into your local yarn store to help support the small businesses in your area.
Hooks
If you ask me, a great crochet hook can make all the difference in your project!
- Furls Crochet Hooks: Furls Crochet hooks have been my go-to for five years and counting. I love them so much!
- Sewrella Yarn Hooks: Did someone say blush pink with rose gold crochet hooks? Yes. They really exist and you can get them from Sewrella Yarn!
- Prym Crochet Hooks: Want ergonomic hooks without breaking the bank? Check out Prym crochet hooks, they look amazing!
- Lantern Moon Tunisian Hook Set: Helloooo luxury, these Ebony Lantern Moon Tunisian hooks look so dreamy!
- ChiaoGoo Tunisian Hook Set: It seems like ChiaoGoo has thought of everything with this set of hooks that even have a couple larger sizes.
- Clover Tunisian Hook Set: This Clover hook set was a top contender for me when looking for tunisian hooks!
Yarn Tools
These are the unsung heroes for knit and crochet projects:
- Yarn Swift & Ball Winder: If you work with yarn that comes in hanks and need to be wound, a yarn swift and ball winder is a game changer! I’ve used this ball winder and swift for years!
- Scissors: These Gingher scissors are my holy grail! They are the perfect size and super sharp for snipping ends and shaping pom poms! Plus they come with a leather sheath to keep them safe in your project bag.
- Stitch Markers: Hands down, Hello Lavender Design has the most beautiful stitch markers ever!
- Wool Wash: Not just for wool, a wool wash is perfect for any items you need to handwash! One of my all-time favorites is the Celebration scent from Soak Wash.
Books
I love books. Here’s a few of my favorite yarn-related books & more:
- Vanishing Fleece: I just read Vanishing Fleece and wowowow. It’s all about sheep and the American Wool industry and how yarn is made and I just loved every bit of it. Clara Parkes is an incredible author and this reads just like your favorite novel.
- The Curse of the Boyfriend Sweater: I wrote a whole blog post review on this a few years ago and honestly may need to reread this book. The Curse of the Boyfriend Sweater is a collection of beautiful essays on knitting and I found it so relatable and wonderful to read.
- First Words: First Words is a baby book of CROCHET amigurumi! This baby board book quickly became the favorite in our household (for our 1-year old AND me!).
- Tunisian Crochet Handbook: The Tunisian Crochet Handbook is *the* best resource for anyone looking to learn Tunisian crochet.
- Crochet Pattern Books: There are so many wonderful pattern books out there, but Modern Crochet & Modern Crochet Sweaters are two of my favorites!
- Crochet Stitch Books: There are a ton of stitch books out there, but the Indispensable Stitch Collection is one of my all-time favorites!
- Summer Reads: I love a summery novel and 28 Summers was my favorite this year!
- Book Light: This book light the BEST! It stays on my book, is LED and the charge lasts forever, you can use any USB charger, annnd it’s a nice amber color so it’s not *too* bright.
Everyday Essentials
And just for fun, I had to include a few of my everyday favorites:
- Natural Skincare: If you’re looking for natural, non-toxic skincare products, Primally Pure is incredible. Their natural deodorant is by far the best, and I have so many other favorites like the Everything Spray, face serums, and basically just everything! Use the code WOODSANDWOOL for 10% off too!
- Erasable Pens: These erasable pens are *magic* and come in so many different colors!
- Water Bottle: My go-to water bottle for 2 years and counting! You get the best of both worlds witha a straw and regular spout!
- Handpoured Soy Candles: Wax and Wool has best candles around. Christmas Market and Tree Farm are my favorites for winter!
- Clay Jewelry: Indigo Clay Jewelry has some of the cutest handmade clay earrings out there! They’re so lightweight and she has so many styles from adorable holiday designs to elegant pieces!
- Make Something Special: Whether you’re a knitter or crocheter or have a knack for crafty things, it’s always special to make something for someone you love! Find pattern inspo here on the blog or shop patterns from your favorite indie knit and crochet designers.
And that’s a wrap! Hope you enjoyed this yarny gift guide and found something you loved.
