Materials
- Size 15mm Crochet Hook
- 1 Skein (87 yards) of Crazy Sexy Wool, by Wool and the Gang or
- 1 Skein (87 yards) of The Wool, by We Are Knitters
Gauge
4” / 10 cm = 5 rows + 5 sts in half double crochet
Stitch Abbreviations
- Ch – Chain
- Hdc – Half double crochet
- Sl st – Slip stitch
- St(s) – Stitch(es)
Special Stitches
Half Double Crochet Ribbing / Camel Stitch = Hdc into third loop
The hdc ribbing, commonly referred to as the Camel Stitch, is created by working hdc stitches into the third loop of the previous row. After the first round, all hdc stitches are worked into the third loop of the stitch in the previous row. The Pattern
- This pattern is worked in the round using the spiral method.
- Do not join or turn after each round as the rounds are worked continuously.
- After the first round, all hdc stitches are worked into the third loop.
Chain: Ch 31. Join with sl st to the first ch.
Round 1: Hdc in first ch and in each ch around. – (31 sts)
Round 2: Hdc into the third loop of the next st and in each st around. – (31 sts)
(Be sure to insert your hook into the third loop of the stitch in the previous row.)
Rounds 3-9: Repeat row 2. – (31 sts)
(Optional): Sl st in next 3 stitches to even out top edge.
Cut yarn and weave in ends.
