My obsession for this cotton yarn and mindless crochet kitchen projects continues with the Modern Stripe Dishcloth! This fun and easy free crochet pattern is perfect for beginners looking to expand their knowledge.
This pattern features back loop stitches to create ribbed texture that’s both beautiful and functional for your home. You’ll also learn a trick to create easy crochet stripes without having tons of ends to weave in!
Before you dive in – pick out which version you want to make! The Modern Stripe Dishcloth crochet pattern has 3 variations: solid, stripe, or triangle stripe. In the free pattern below, you’ll find instructions for the solid and stripe version.
Get the pattern for all three variations, including the triangle stripe version (my personal favorite!) in the paid PDF version of this pattern! With two skeins of yarn, you can make 2 solid dishcloths, 1 stripe, and 1 triangle stripe pattern. I love the way these look together in a set!

The Yarn I Can’t Get Enough Of
It’s no secret that I am OBSESSED with this yarn. It’s perfect for kitchen and home projects because it comes in a ton of colors, works up beautifully, and holds up well over time. Dishie is one of my all-time favorite yarns because of it’s versatility, affordability, and it’s just fun to work with!
I’ve used it in several other free patterns, like My Favorite Dishcloth, Dishie Towel, and the Picot Dish Set. The project ideas are endless, but I always come back to creating something new for my kitchen! These are also great little projects to make for gifts!
