Meet the Vintage Flannel Beanie!
The Vintage Flannel Beanie is a classic pattern brought to life with colorful yarn. As someone who lives in Michigan, I will say there is nothing better than wearing my favorite flannel on a snowy winter day. There’s something about a flannel shirt that is so timeless and gives me all the cozy vibes – and that’s exactly how this pattern feels.

After purchasing a beautiful hand dyed yarn, called Vintage Flannel from Handmade Home Fibers, I set out to create a design that would showcase this amazing colorway. The Vintage Flannel Beanie is perfect for any colorful or variegated yarn, but would be gorgeous in solid colors too! Either way, you’ll love the simplicity of this classic beanie pattern.

Whether you have your eyes on a hand dyed colorway or have something stashed away, your favorite skein of worsted weight yarn will work perfectly for this pattern. This pattern is an easy introduction to making crochet hats and is the perfect pattern to dip your toes into using colorful yarns!
The Details
This pattern uses about 210 yards of worsted weight yarn. You can use any worsted weight yarn you like, but this pattern will really shine with a variegated yarn from your favorite independent yarn dyer!
It is definitely a beginner-friendly pattern and has step-by-step instructions as well as a link to my Youtube tutorial for my favorite crochet ribbing. You’ll love how mindless and simple this pattern is and it will work up beautifully in so many different colorways!
