The Midwest Vest pattern is a modern classic inspired by the the snow, the spring, and the sunshine. This pattern is a perfect introduction to making crochet garments. It’s a super fast and fun project with an easy, yet unique stitch that creates a beautiful texture for this design. (In fact, I’m so obsessed with this texture, I’m already dreaming up more designs with this stitch!)
A Tribute to My Home State
As a Michigan girl, I had to give a little tribute to my home state with this design! Everything about this is perfect for weather in the Midwest – snowy, sunny, springy… this is my new go-to. Oh, and my absolute favorite part of the Midwest is the Great Lakes!! So with this pretty blue, I just had to call it the Midwest Vest.
Did you know I lived in Wisconsin for a few years? I left a little piece of my heart there and like to think this name of this pattern encompasses that pretty state too.
